The Lister Knowlton VFW Auxiliary Post #9389 in Caribou, has sponsored the Miss Caribou and Little Miss Caribou pageants for the past several years, and have donated the proceeds raised by the event to the Jefferson Cary Cancer Center, (JCCC), through the Jefferson Cary Foundation at Cary Medical Center. This year’s donation was $1,500 and will be used to assist patients undergoing treatment. Auxiliary Post members have donated $4,500 over the past three years with past proceeds used to purchase a new Chemotherapy Rocking Chair for patients.
